Property management leader also establishes PTO donation program for associates to gift
paid leave to colleagues affected by the hurricane

DANIA BEACH, Fla. (September 5, 2017)FirstService Residential, North America’s leading property management company, has donated $100,000 to the American Red Cross for massive relief efforts in Texas and Louisiana stemming from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. The company has simultaneously launched a donation matching campaign, pledging to match the first $50,000 contributed through a dedicated microsite the company set up with the Red Cross, with a goal of raising more than $200,000 in relief funds.

Additionally, FirstService Residential has established a Paid Time Off (PTO) Donation policy for its associates, enabling them to donate their paid time off to colleagues affected by the hurricane.

The Red Cross contribution, matching campaign and PTO donation program come on the heels of a $10 million Hurricane Harvey recovery fund the company established earlier this week to make short-term emergency loans immediately available to FirstService Residential managed communities to begin repairs while waiting for insurance claims to be realized.

“Our company is driven to make a difference every day for those in our care, which includes the residents of our managed communities, as well as our associates,” said FirstService Residential CEO Chuck Fallon.

The donation to the Red Cross was made to help meet the immediate call for assistance in the form of food, shelter and clothing for the thousands of displaced victims, some of whom are Texas-based FirstService Residential associates themselves. According to Fallon, it was this sobering fact that spurred the creation of the Harvey PTO aid package.

“This is a tough time for everyone who found themselves in Harvey’s path of destruction,” continued Fallon. “As our associates in Texas work alongside homeowners and residents to help them piece their lives, homes and communities together, our associates need to know their FirstService Residential family has got their backs.”

FirstService Residential has set up a microsite through the American Red Cross for anyone interested in making a financial donation. For more information, visit: https://www.redcross.org/donate/cm/firstservice-emp
