Most management companies provide a standard 30-day transition period. Based on our experience transitioning properties, this short timeframe places much of the most crucial transition work on the property manager, and results in a cumbersome and incomplete process at the end of the transition period.
FirstService Residential has solved this problem by providing a three-phased transition period that can last up to 90 days. Our transition team begins by collecting and organizing all of your vital building documents and works closely with your assigned financial analyst to determine the accuracy of all documents, contracts, budgets, and building staff payroll.
What Your Board Can Expect
Upon finalizing your management agreement with FirstService Residential, Stephanie will meet with your board or ownership to discuss the transition process, listen to your concerns to better understand your building’s needs, and answer your questions about the process.
At the end of the transition period, we present you with an analysis of what the previous management company provided, along with a complete transition communications log.
We also present an archived documents package containing all items received once the transition period ends. We store your archived transition files separately from the building’s working files. This ensures a permanent accounting of records as of the transition completion date. This comprehensive compilation of data is an invaluable asset to your building’s historical records that our clients find useful years after the transition occurs.
