Dan Wurtzel is Chairman of FirstService Residential New York. A 30-year industry veteran, Dan has been a board member of the Realty Advisory Board on Labor Relations (RABLOR) since 2014 and represents building owners as a member of the organization's Labor Negotiations Committee. He holds a Registered in Apartment Management (RAM) credential from the National Associated Builders and Owners (NABO) and was previously a member of NABO’s national board of governors.
Dan is also a licensed real estate salesperson in New York State and a graduate of the University of Maryland’s business school.

David Diestel is the chief executive officer of FirstService Residential. As CEO, he guides FirstService Residential’s associates to drive the overall success and growth of the company’s client portfolio in markets throughout North America.
David’s mission is to build upon the culture of excellence, dedicated people, and the common goal to make a difference for those who have entrusted their communities to FirstService Residential’s care. During his almost two decades with the FirstService Residential family, David was instrumental in building the foundation of the FirstService Residential brand and how we operate today including, associate and client experience programs, strategic planning as well as leading operations teams that deliver service excellence across the organization.
David, who joined FirstService Residential in 2007, previously served as the company’s Regional President, South, and as Senior Vice President of Operations. Before joining the company, he held the position of Director of Strategy and Operations at parent company FirstService Corporation in Toronto, which he joined in 2002.
David has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from McGill University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He earned his certification as a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) from the U.S. Green Building Council. He currently lives in South Florida, where he enjoys traveling, running, and spending time with his wife and two teenage sons.

Tal Eyal
Executive Vice President
Tal Eyal serves as Executive Vice President of FirstService Residential New York. In this role, he is responsible for the expenditures, operating efficiency and strategic capital planning for the company’s physical offices, as well as for business development.
Tal joined the company in 1990 as one of its original property managers. Having amassed extensive experience over a 25 year career in real estate, Tal was instrumental in developing FirstService Residential into the largest residential management company in New York City.
Tal also is a founder and President of FirstService Project Management, a subsidiary of FirstService Residential dedicated to overseeing residential and commercial construction projects. Since its founding in 2005, FirstService Project Management has performed hundreds of millions of dollars in capital improvement projects across the tristate area.
FirstService Project Management’s forté is providing turnkey services for property managers and building owners who lack the knowledge and technical skills needed to successfully oversee projects. From project conception, to bidding and contract negotiations, through selecting architects, engineers, and contractors, and overseeing construction, the company also assists property owners with budgeting, financing and resident and staff communications.
Projects include commercial to luxury residential condominium conversions, cogeneration, boiler and HVAC installations and upgrades, lobby and common area restorations, large-scale window replacements, Local Law 11/waterproofing projects, individual apartment renovations, as well as landscaping and green roofs.
Tal also is a founder and President of FirstService Energy, a subsidiary of FirstService Residential that provides energy management and advisory services to the company’s clients in order to reduce consumption, costs and emissions while improving property values and quality of life. Since its creation in 2010, FirstService Energy has helped FirstService Residential clients save over $25 million in energy costs while reducing the carbon footprint of the company’s New York portfolio by more than 15 percent.
FirstService Energy’s energy purchasing program saves clients, on average, 13 percent on electricity and natural gas costs compared to rates charged by local utilities. With operations in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Pennsylvania, and Illinois, FirstService Energy is among the largest aggregators of residential electric and gas in the United States.
A Registered Apartment Manager (RAM) and New York State licensed real estate broker, Tal holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from a joint New York University/New York Institute of Technology program, and earned a certificate from New York University’s Schack Institute of Real Estate. He previously served as a captain in the Israel Defense Forces.

Michael Wolfe is the president of property management and a partner at FirstService Residential New York. In this role, he is responsible for driving best practices that enhance operational efficiency, increase property value for boards and owners and elevate the resident experience.
Michael is a licensed real estate and insurance broker, a New York State Certified Instructor in Real Estate, chair of the Real Estate Board of New York’s (REBNY) Residential Management Council and a board member of the Realty Advisory Board (RAB) and the Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums (CNYC). Benjamin Kirschenbaum
Vice President and General Counsel
Benjamin Kirschenbaum serves as Vice President and General Counsel of FirstService Residential New York. An attorney with more than 25 years of experience in law, residential management and brokerage, Ben oversees all legal matters related to the company and its subsidiaries, which include FS Project Management and FS Energy.
Ben supervises the Application Processing, Closing, Compliance, Leasing, Regulatory and Insurance departments and coordinates the real estate tax protest process for the company’s managed properties.
Prior to joining the company, Ben served as Head of Management Operations and as General Counsel for both property management and residential brokerage firms. With support from The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), he was instrumental in demonstrating the flaws in the federal regulations on lead-based paint as applied to cooperatives and condominiums to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Modifications in the regulations made it possible for owners and boards to comply with the federal mandates.
Ben is admitted to practice in both New York and Connecticut and is a licensed real estate broker in both states. He sits on the Residential Management Council of REBNY, serving as chair from 1998 – 2000 and from 2011 to 2014. He is also a member of the Cooperative and Condominium Committee of the Association of the Bar of New York City.
Ben received an undergraduate degree from Brown University and a J.D. from Duke University Law School. An avid golfer, he is Vice President of the Westchester Golf Association Caddie Scholarship Fund and the Westchester Senior Golf Association.

Oleg Troyakov, Senior Vice President, is responsible for driving revenue enhancement and cost control initiatives for FirstService Residential New York. He is also charged with leading our Corporate Finance and Financial Management teams (client accounting) who provide best-in-class accounting and financial services to our company and the properties we manage.
Oleg joined FirstService Residential in 2010 as a Financial Analyst and assumed positions of increasing authority over the years. He most recently served as Vice President of our Financial Management Division, appointed in 2017.
Oleg earned an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College where he majored in finance and investments. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in public accounting from Brooklyn College.

With 20 years of experience in asset and property management, Christina’s forté is evaluating properties and management operations in order to maximize their service levels while maintaining tight control of expenses and projects. She has demonstrated the highest levels of financial, organizational and administrative skills for the properties under her supervision throughout New York City.
Christina supervises a team of portfolio property managers who specialize in the management of residential co-ops and condos throughout New York City. She provides exceptional support and supervision of management staff and has assisted her boards on a variety of matters, ranging from everyday requests to special projects.

David Valente

As a Senior Vice President of the Manhattan Condo/Co-op Division, David has executive oversight of a team that specializes in the management of new and young, luxury condominium and cooperative properties transitioning from sponsor to board control, as well as properties that have recently completed a transition.
After joining the company in 2007 as an Assistant Property Manager for The Plaza Condominium, the residential portion of the iconic Plaza Hotel, David went on to manage some of the city’s highest-end properties. His cumulative success in building operations, hospitality coaching for building staff and capital planning earned him a promotion to vice president in 2016.
David earned a J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and an undergraduate degree from Pomona College. He is also a retired member of the New York State Bar Association.

Sal Schiano, a Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Vice President at FirstService Residential New York, brings a high level of commitment and 25-plus years of experience to his portfolio of high-end luxury cooperatives and condominiums in Manhattan.
Sal’s expertise in navigating the three main management disciplines – financial, operations and administration – and his ability to successfully manage capital projects, are an asset to the company and its clients. Importantly, he's earned respect from his boards and demonstrates the confidence and integrity required to be an effective leader.
Sal was a Management Executive with Goodstein Management for 12 years prior to the company’s merger with FirstService Residential in 2010. In this position he was responsible for the physical, financial and day-to-day management of a residential property portfolio.
For the 17 years prior, Sal was a Senior Vice President at Helmsley-Spear/Parkchester Management where he was a key player on a team that managed 171 apartment buildings with over 12,000 units, 50,000 residents, 150 retail stores, five parking garages and annual business volume of approximately $100 million.
Sal is a New York State certified real estate instructor, a licensed real estate broker and is a past recipient of the Realtor of the Year award from the Bronx Board of Realtors. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business from St. Frances College.

Yolanda Amparo is Director of Lease Administration for FirstService Residential’s Multifamily Rental Division. As director, Yolanda oversees a team of specialists responsible for the management and administration of leases and related agreements across the company’s multifamily rental management portfolio.
With more than 20 years of experience, Yolanda maintains executive oversight for critical operational services affecting more than 12,000 rental units in the New York City region. This includes managing and tracking lease status, payables and receivables, rent rolls and landlord/tenant relations.
Yolanda joined FirstService Residential in 2000 and has risen through the ranks with appointments of increasing responsibility. She is the recipient of a FirstService Residential Star Award for her exemplary leadership skills, accountability and intimate knowledge of the needs and expectations of the multifamily building owners we serve.

Amanda Shafer is Vice President of Human Resources for FirstService Residential New York where she is responsible for implementing and leading the organization’s human resources strategies and programs. Her duties include providing counsel to the New York executive team in the areas of organizational and leadership development, training, recruitment, associate relations, compensation and benefits. In addition, she was a key player in the implementation of the company’s Human Capital Management platform and the integration of its Shared Services benefits and payroll model.
Amanda earned a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and has more than a decade of industry experience serving as a strategic business partner and managing HR functions.

As Vice President of compliance, Stephanie Cardello oversees the company’s Compliance Department, a dedicated team of associates who help keep board members, building owners, residents and property managers educated and prepared to comply with New York City’s expanding web of local laws.
Since joining the company in 2010, Stephanie has established internal education programs that empower property managers to walk hand-in-hand with board members and buildings owners through the intricacies of local law compliance. This includes the tax abatement process for cooperatives and condominiums, facade and gas pipeline inspections, maintenance and filing requirements for elevators and MEP components, and annual safety notices among other critical undertakings.
Stephanie also oversees FirstService Residential’s Transitions Department and serves as the primary point of contact for every building that transitions management into the New York portfolio. This includes personally meeting with the board members and building ownership throughout the transition process to provide status updates.
In 2019, Stephanie was instrumental in the rollout of FirstService Residential’s partnership with VIVE, a third-party company that certifies vendors and contractors before work is performed at the company’s managed properties.
Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Science Summa Cum Laude in Professional Communications from Farmingdale State College and her MBA in Banking and Finance from Dowling College. Since 2005, she is also a New York State Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.
