Cooper Square Realty Changes Name to FirstService Residential
No Changes for Clients, Operations, Services or Personnel
NEW YORK (June 27, 2013) – The corporate headquarters of FirstService Residential has announced that its New York City subsidiary, Cooper Square Realty, has been renamed FirstService Residential. This change is taking place simultaneously as 18 regional FirstService Residential subsidiaries adopt a unified name, effective June 27, 2013.
Cooper Square Realty was founded by David Kuperberg more than 25 years ago with a mission to professionalize the New York City residential property management business.
“This name change is another step forward in property management’s evolution to the professional service business our clients expect,” said Kuperberg, now president of FirstService Residential New York. The company has grown to become the largest residential property management firm in the New York City area, managing a client portfolio of over 500 condominiums, cooperatives and rental properties comprising more than 70,000 apartments.
FirstService Residential, in aggregate, is the largest manager of residential communities in North America, overseeing more than 6,000 properties and over 1.5 million residential units. Cooper Square Realty became a subsidiary of FirstService Residential in 2003.
