You talk, we listen.

Communication requires multiple channels to reach the largest possible audience! Access & share our 2021 Communication Survey Report to see how boards like yours across the U.S. communicate.

These days, there's a variety of communication tools at your disposal that make property management for homeowners easy, like community websites, email and social media. Here's how your association can bring property management services into the digital age.

Community Website.

Have your very own association's website is a great, one-stop-shop that keeps residents informed about events, policy changes and more! It also enables homeowners to stay connected 24/7 using any device. From meeting minutes to financial statements, having a community website gives residents the option to make payments, form special interest groups and use online voting to enhance their property values and lifestyles.

Text Messaging.

When it comes to community emergency preparedness, an advanced mass communication system will enable homeowners and their property management company to provide urgent information quickly.

Email.

Many of us are used to having our inboxes spammed with ads and other hollow content, so if you're an association that wants to use an email strategy, your subject matter has to, well, matter. With this in mind, you should never use a work or personal account to communicate with residents. Instead, the board should establish a professional address used exclusively for association news. Always maintain a polished tone and never discuss legal matters in your communications.

Social Media.

While social media can be tricky to manage, there's no doubt that it's today's communication platform of choice. If you decide to create a social media account for your association, be sure to monitor it closely. To get started, first determine its purpose. Second, establish ownership. Who will monitor the account or respond to comments? As a best practice, give one board member and your property management company administrative rights to maintain your association’s online reputation.

There's no question that communication plays a major role in your association's success, but getting it just right is no easy task. Take control of your community using the resources that's right for you.
