Orange County, May 15, 2013 —FirstService Residential, formerly known as Merit Property Management, announces today the promotion of Ken Gibson, CCAM, to Executive Director of Ladera Ranch.  In his role as Executive Director, Gibson works closely with the Ladera Ranch Maintenance Corporation (LARMAC) Board of Directors with responsibilities for daily operations and also oversees a team of 28 full and part time staff with four direct reports. The position includes budgeting, spending, contracts, agreements, staff management, resident relations and other related duties. Gibson transitioned to the position on April 1, 2013.

Prior to his current role, Gibson worked as the General Manager of Trilogy at Glen Ivy and was responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the active adult community consisting of 1,317 homes, three common area facility buildings and 16 on-site staff members. Prior to serving as General Manager of Trilogy at Glen Ivy, Gibson was the Assistant General Manager for two years and also held positions as Director of Community Lifestyles and Fitness & Wellness Director.

Gibson holds the professional designation of Certified Community Association Manager (CCAM) from the California Association of Community Managers and is a Certified Manager of Community Associations by the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers. He attended California State University, Long Beach and studied Kinesiology/Physical Education. Gibson lives in Riverside and is actively involved with the Inland Empire chapter of JDRF, the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research.
