Our company was founded in 1980 as Armstrong Management Services, a family business with a single community under management. Today, we are still a family, but we have expanded our services to include a wide range of property management services, as well as administrative, accounting and financial services, developer consulting and real estate leasing and brokerage services. In conjunction with our sister companies FirstService Residential Washington, D.C. and FirstService Residential Virginia, our portfolio includes more than 295 communities with 90,000 homes, making us West Virginia’s leading full-service residential property management company.
In 1998, Armstrong became part of FirstService Residential, the largest property resident management organization in North America. This affiliation, a major company milestone, also allowed us to participate in many differentiating programs and services providing measurable value to our clients.
Our company experienced another major milestone in June 2013 when our parent company brought all of its management companies together under the FirstService Residential brand. Armstrong Management Services was renamed FirstService Residential West Virginia, the name we hold today. In addition to boosting the visibility of our affiliation with the FirstService Residential family, the rebranding has helped us more easily leverage our organization’s vast resources, best practices and combined buying power to benefit our clients, while still delivering the local expertise and personalized service that have helped make us West Virginia’s property management leader.
