FirstService Residential and John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning Raise $12,000 for The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities
The South Florida High-Rise Division of FirstService Residential played John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning in a charity softball game on Saturday, October 10th, at Roger Dean Stadium. The game was part of an afternoon that raised $12,000 for The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at FAU.
The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at FAU provides free services to people with autism and related disabilities, their families and the professionals serving them. As of June 30, 2015, FAU CARD has served 3750 registered individuals with autism and related disabilities in Palm Beach, Martin, Indian River, St. Lucia and Okeechobee counties.
Bill Falconio of John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning, and John Vitale and Steve Gutierrez of FirstService Residential spearheaded the charity softball game. “We were passionate about organizing an event to give back to our community. With the participation of Roger Dean Stadium and the support of so many of our vendors, a charity softball game came naturally,” said Falconio.
Vendor sponsorship was displayed throughout the Cassidy Cool Zone, an air-conditioned pavilion that offered an area for families to enjoy their food and beverages. The afternoon included a variety of games, face painting, and raffles to win signed memorabilia.
The event was deemed such a success that one is already in the works for 2016; FirstService Residential has demanded a rematch on October 8, 2016 at Roger Dean Stadium, with a $10 entry donation, which includes food and beverage. All proceeds will go to FAU Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.
