Our associates live and work in the same communities you do, so we dedicate ourselves to helping worthy causes throughout the areas we serve.
Whether our associates are volunteering their time and efforts or collecting donations to help those in need, we always aim high to help as much as we can.
What kinds of organizations and causes are we helping? Across our service areas in the United States and Canada, we donate toys to needy children, assemble care packages for deployed troops and homeless people, collect school supplies for schools in vulnerable areas, gather donations for local food banks and help build homes with Habitat for Humanity. We raise money for veterans in need, for autism support services, breast cancer research, Down’s syndrome support and research, cystic fibrosis research, microlending in the developing world, children’s hospice care, the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the United Way.
In the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, FirstService Residential donated $100K to the American Red Cross, and donated an additional $19K through a company fundraising match program. Our associates stepped up to donate paid time off for their colleagues who needed additional time to get their lives and homes in order following these disasters.
As a corporation, FirstService Residential also provides assistance to our residents in times of emergency. We have established $10 million emergency funds to cover damages in many of our managed communities caused by catastrophic events, such as hurricanes, earthquakes, or major snow, flooding or wind.
