The Continental Group Changes Name to FirstService Residential
Name Change Part of North American Rebranding Effort Highlighting National Reach and Personalized Local Service
HOLLYWOOD, FL (June 27, 2013) – The corporate headquarters of FirstService Residential has announced that its subsidiary, The Continental Group, has been renamed FirstService Residential. This name change is part of FirstService Residential’s national rebranding effort, which took effect on June 27, 2013.
FirstService Residential is the largest manager of residential communities in North America, overseeing more than 6,000 properties and over 1.5 million residential units.
The former Continental Group, the established leader in the Florida residential property management market, manages a client portfolio of more than 1,600 associations and 400,000 residential units. It became a subsidiary of FirstService Residential in 1997.
“From day one, FirstService Residential has shared our company’s mission to deliver exceptional service and attention to our managed community associations, supporting our team’s efforts to enhance value and quality of life for every community and resident in our care,” said Tim O’Keefe, formerly Chief Executive Officer of The Continental Group and now President, FirstService Residential South Region.

O’Keefe also noted that the rebranding to FirstService Residential represents a change in company name only, and all day-to-day operations will remain “business as usual.” Current property management teams will remain in place to service their existing customers, with added benefits gained from access to an expanded core of resources, combined purchasing power and shared expertise and best practices.
