West New York, NJ – FirstService Residential, the leading property management company in New Jersey, hosted another educational roundtable focused on high-rise management best practice sharing. This was the second educational best practice sharing session in the gold coast region of New Jersey in a series of events that will continue. In addition, the educational best practice sharing roundtable series has been successfully held across the region including Philadelphia, Baltimore, and the Washington DC metropolitan area for high-rise, condominium and homeowner associations as well as lifestyle and active adult communities. Upcoming scheduled events include Charlotte, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina and additional roundtables in New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and the DC Metropolitan area.

The interactive three hour session was attended by board members from numerous communities in the New Jersey gold coast area and several FirstService Residential executives and community managers. Board members represented communities currently managed by FirstService Residential as well as properties currently managed by other firms, or self-managed. The informative session was moderated by FirstService Residential Senior Vice President of High-Rise Arthur Bartikofsky.

The session was held at Riviera Towers which sits atop the majestic Palisades Cliffs overlooking the Hudson River and New York City skyline and has been managed by FirstService Residential since 2012. This luxury cooperative apartment building consists of 34 stories with 428 units. Residents enjoy full amenities such as outdoor pool, 24-hour concierge, gym, terraces, community rooms, library, in-house convenience store, storage rooms, bicycle storage, laundry room and parking. Riviera Towers is conveniently located near mass transit, private shuttle buses, and ferry buses to New York City.

The agenda was developed based on feedback from attendees. Topics included the importance of standard operating procedures custom to each high-rise building, the pros and cons of out-sourcing versus in-house for services such as front desk and doorman, and the industry-changing legislation mandating management licensing which is likely to occur in within the next year or two.
“The night was wonderful in that it had representatives of many area boards. Board representatives honestly discussed issues of interest to everyone while engaging the FirstService representatives in solutions,” said Ken Blane, President Riviera Towers Corporation. “Of course, the good food, drink and laughter created great camaraderie with fellow board members.”

“This was the second successful educational best practice sharing roundtable we have held in the New Jersey gold coast area within the past several months,” said Arthur Bartikofsky, FirstService Residential Senior Vice President High-Rise. “The participation, energy, exchange of ideas, and dedication shown by board volunteers fuels our passion to continually develop and provide valuable solutions to communities.” He continued, “We are already planning the next roundtable for the gold coast region and look forward to continuing the dialogue learning and sharing from our collective experiences.”
