At FirstService Residential New Jersey, we are passionate about giving back to the communities, friends and neighbors we serve. Our team members live, work and play in the same communities as you do, and we strive to provide service that goes above and beyond every day. Part of this commitment includes dedicating our resources to help those in need. Both as a company and as individuals, we donate significant time and effort to assisting worthy causes and organizations throughout New Jersey, as well as those that are national in scope.
But in times of disaster, we also spring into action to provide immediate support to our residents and communities. The most recent example occurred in late 2012 when Hurricane Sandy – the largest Atlantic hurricane in history – caused devastation throughout New Jersey and New York. The storm caused significant damage to approximately 200 properties managed by our office and FirstService Residential New York, as well as considerable hardship for residents and their families.
However, just a few days after the storm hit, FirstService Residential established a $10 million emergency Hurricane Recovery Fund to help affected residents and properties begin making repairs before their insurance claims were finalized. Thanks to this immediate funding, our residents and their families were able to begin the recovery process and start getting back to their daily lives.
