FirstService Residential Hosts Educational Best Practice Board Roundtable in Arlington, Virginia
– FirstService Residential, the leading property management company in the Washington DC metropolitan area, hosted an educational roundtable focused on community association management best practice sharing. In addition to the Arlington event, the educational best practice sharing roundtable series has been successfully held across the region including Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. Upcoming scheduled events include Charlotte, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina and additional roundtables in the DC Metropolitan area, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
The interactive three hour session was attended by board members from numerous managed communities from the Arlington area and several FirstService Residential executives and community managers. Board members represented communities currently managed by FirstService Residential as well as properties currently managed by other firms, or self-managed. The informative session was moderated by FirstService Residential DC Metropolitan President Daniel Bauman.
The session was held at Altavista Condominium, a luxury high-rise located in the heart of Arlington, Virginia which has been managed by FirstService Residential since 2013 and consists of 277 condominiums. This property is situated 20 steps above the Ballston Metro Center, making it ideal for commuters. The agenda was developed based on feedback from attendees. Topics included how to handle multiple renovations at the same time while ensuring quality standards, adherence with association regulations, and staying within budget. Regardless of the topic communication and collaboration between the board, management and owners was a common theme.
