Your association’s governing documents may require a specific number of directors and officers to serve on the board. At times, community associations find it difficult to recruit these members and/or keep them. The resignation of board members or just a lack of interest could affect the proper functioning of the association. Board meetings cannot be held without the appropriate quorum,  and without a majority vote on agenda topics, important action items may not be able to be completed.
