We were delighted to be a sponsor of the open house on Thursday evening at Bridgewater, one of our condominium associations in downtown Minneapolis. Hosted by the Bridgewater Friends of Neighbors and the Arts, the group debuted their new arts program for the community.

The open house showcased 14 artists and 42 pieces of artwork, all of which will be rotated throughout the community on a regular schedule. This is a novel and mutually beneficial partnership arrangement between Bridgewater Friends of Neighbors and the Arts and artists from Northrup King building in North East Minneapolis, which is owned by Jim Stanton the developer of the Bridgewater.

The art opening also celebrated the completion of several upgrades to Bridgewater's common area corridors, main lobby and management office, which include an addition of a conference room for the Association and installation of a high security self-service package room. The project was beautifully designed by ESG Architects and completed by Gittleman Construction & Maintenance on time, within budget and no contingency spending.

It’s also worth noting that in advance of the common area updates, the Association converted all corridor lighting to LED, resulting in saving the Association thousands of dollars per month with a payback of less than 18 months. Talk about spending money to enhance the quality of community life when there are ongoing operating savings elsewhere.

The partnership mindset of Bridgewater Condominium Association in its relationship with us, their association management company, and its community art partners is a wonderful example of the thriving and successful community life.

"You could see it in the lobby, in the people's smiles and in the art work. You really felt the upbeat buzz and energy. Hats off to Bridgewater for making it happen," said Mark Gittleman, President of FirstService Residential.
