With the help of generous support from FirstService Residential Georgia and other great sponsors, The Manhattan Condominium is hosting their 2nd annual Dunwoody Manhattan Memorial Climb on Saturday September 8th 2012. The Climb takes place in the East stairwell of the Manhattan Condo building and goes from ground level to the 27th floor Sky lounge – where you can enjoy a view, and a bottle of cold water!

The event honors the service men and women who lost their lives on September 11th 2011. All proceeds go to the Georgia Firefighters Burn foundation – which is an amazing organization that focuses on helping burn victims with all aspects of recovery.

We would appreciate your participation – and there are several ways to contribute:

To volunteer please email Helen Smith hsmith@communityoneassociates.com for more information. Typically a volunteer might assist with Climb-day registration, monitoring the residential hallways to make sure the public stays on course.

To participate: Please register at www.gfbf.org the price is $25.00. We begin with a brief opening ceremony at 8:00 AM. The Dunwoody firefighters serenade us with the National anthem and bring fire trucks for children to play on. The first climbers enter the building at 8:46 AM (the time that the first tower of the World Trade Center was hit on September 11th, 2001.) We will continue to let climbers into the building in waves to keep traffic flowing. Participants receive a tee shirt at the top. There is no time limit for reaching the top so any level of fitness will be OK taking on this challenge!

The event is open to the public and we would like to get as many participants as possible!

Thank you for any contribution you can make. We look forward to seeing you On The Stairs!
