POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Director actively promotes the company's philosophies and culture to staff, clients, and the community. The Regional Director provides management, direction, leadership, supervision and training to a team of Strata Managers in order to promote client retention, employee retention, and the continual enhancement of the Company’s client services. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY

Supervision:
Supervises an assigned team of Strata Managers by:

  • Providing ongoing support and guidance, with a particular focus on client retention
  • Routinely monitoring progress and developing measurable action plans to resolve issues
  • Providing specific assistance concerning technical issues
  • Conducting formal and informal performance reviews
  • Ensuring that Strata Managers adhere to corporate policies including, but not limited to, recruiting, payroll processes, accounting, and human resources policies
  • Providing appropriate professional development to existing Strata Managers and training to new Strata Managers

Operations:
Works collaboratively with the Vice-President of Strata Operations to develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures that improve the Company’s service delivery and competitive position. This includes: 
  • Continually monitoring client feedback through established channels (watchlist, NPS Survey, etc) and developing pro-active responses
  • Providing the Company with the opportunity to bid on ancillary services
  • Monitoring special projects and associated fees
  • Coordinating the set-up, transition or termination of strata corporations within area of responsibility
  • Representing the Company at a variety of meetings and events
  • Participating in in-house company committees and task forces
  • Effectively communicating Company initiatives to internal and external audiences

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate will be licensed to provide strata management services by the Real Estate Council of BC (RECBC) and will have successfully managed new developments, high rises, high density and mixed-use strata properties for a minimum of five years. A university degree or equivalent post-secondary education is preferred. 

QUALIFICATIONS

A comprehensive understanding of the strata management industry will be combined with strong management and leadership abilities. Specific competencies include:

  • Thorough knowledge of the Strata Property Act, Real Estate Services Act
  • Working knowledge of Builder’s Lien Act, CCDC2, Personal Information Protect Act, Residential Tenancy Act, Employment Standards Act & Workers Compensation Act
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proven oral presentation and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and lead staff
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel land Outlook
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, bylaws, statutes, regulations or documents with a similar degree of complexity
