Kenny Boddye, from Kevin Davis Insurance, addressed cyber risk and cyber insurance coverage which will be introduced to our clients in 2017. Boddye outlined why community associations need cyber coverage, various types of data breaches and how to calculate their costs.
 
Jonathan Fertel, vice president of client services at SiteCompli, introduced key new features that will soon be available on the company’s platform, including a calendar sync, dashboard, improved navigation and filtering, and modules for cooling towers, backflow tests and water tanks.
 
Stephanie Cardello, director of compliance, covered Annual Safety Notices, NYC Real Property Assessment Applications, upcoming New York State Salesperson Licensing & Continuing Education Courses, and the new Condo/Co-op Tax Abatement process, which the Department of Finance now requires managing agents to submit benefit change forms via the online portal for both 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 by February 2017.
 
Walter Christian, director of technology, covered several enhancements to FirstService Residential's security awareness program such as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), a new feature that requires an additional code or custom answer for added security; the company’s conversion to Citrix, an improved and more secure way of accessing the corporate environment; and the new Cisco telephone system which offers a more streamlined communication method.
