FirstService Residential Announces James P. Magid as Vice President, Lifestyle Division
Eatontown, NJ, May 20, 2014 – FirstService Residential, the leading property management company in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, announces Jim Magid PCAM® CMCA® LSM® as Vice President, Lifestyle Division. In this role, Jim is providing leadership and operational oversight to the current portfolio of New Jersey and Pennsylvania lifestyle and active adult clients as well as the team of client supporting associates. His responsibilities will include collaboration with a team of Executive Directors and Regional Directors in these markets to maximize current retention of clients along with growing these markets for the Lifestyle division.
Jim has been involved in the professional community management industry for 25 years and has been a FirstService Residential associate for the past 16 years. Prior to joining FirstService Residential, he held a senior management position in a community management firm and served as Board President of a condominium association where he lived.
His responsibilities at FirstService Residential have included executive management of two regional offices with oversight of approximately 70 communities and a staff of 45. Most recently he was the Executive Director at Smoke Rise, a gated community in Kinnelon, NJ, featuring 2,500 wooded acres, 912 homes along 30 miles of private roads, and extensive amenities including a 125 acre lake and fine dining restaurant.
He has been active at both the local and national level of the Community Associations Institute, a national organization servicing the community association industry. In 2005, Jim served as the CAI – New Jersey Chapter President and currently serves as the Chair of the Legislative Action Committee. He holds the Community Associations Institute Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®), the Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM®), and the Large Scale Manager (LSM®) designations.
In 2014, he was awarded the Jerome M. Fein Distinguished Service Award by the New Jersey Chapter of the Community Associations Institute (CAI-NJ). He was honored for many years of service to both CAI-NJ and CAI National. This award honors the work of Jerry Fein, a homeowner member of CAI-NJ, who was a dedicated advocate for Community Association Volunteer Leaders throughout the country.
He was recently re-elected to a second two year term on the CAI National Association of Professional Community Manager’s Board beginning January 1, 2014.
