Associates from the South Florida High-Rise Division of FirstService Residential, North America’s largest manager of residential communities, will take to the softball field for a charity softball game against John C. Cassidy Air Conditioning. The 2nd Annual Homerun for Autism Charity Softball Game will be held at Roger Dean Stadium on Saturday, October 8th at 3:00 p.m. Last year’s game raised $12,000 for The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at FAU. Associates from both groups are hoping to exceed that amount at this year’s event.

The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) at FAU is a community-based program providing assistance and support to people with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities, their families, the professionals serving them and the community at large.

“Last year, when we had the idea to organize a charity softball game, we didn’t anticipate the outpouring of support we would receive, nor did we imagine it would be so successful. From our associates to our vendors, to Roger Dean Stadium, everyone came out in a big way to support this very important cause,” said Christopher L. Pappas, senior vice president of FirstService Residential. “We are so excited to bring the event back this year, and hope to raise even more funds for The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at FAU.”

The event will feature family-fun activities, games, food, entertainment and giveaways. Former MLB baseball players, including Rick Ankiel of the Saint Louis Cardinals, Robby Thompson of the San Francisco Giants and Bill Gullickson of the Montreal Expos and Detroit Tigers, will also be present signing autographs.

There is a $10 entry fee, which includes food and beverage. Children under 10 are free. For more information, visit https://homerunforautism.eventbrite.com.
