Morningside Heights Housing Corp., a cooperative building managed by FirstService Residential’s New York office, was selected to participate in NYC's Organic Food Waste Recycling Pilot Program, an innovative initiative designed to reduce the amount of post-consumer waste sent to landfills.

As a result of the pilot’s success, Mayor Bloomberg announced its expansion at a press conference held at Morningside Heights. FirstService Residential’s Russell Jermyn, who serves as the property’s general manager, was invited to join the mayor to help promote the program.  Read more.
