FS Energy Featured in IMT Report on Energy Disclosure and Job Creation
FirstService Energy is prominently featured in an important new energy report just released by the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), a Washington, DC-based not-for-profit organization that promotes energy efficiency, green building and environmental protection in the U.S. and abroad.
The report, Energy Disclosure and the New Frontier for American Jobs, profiles business leaders in the emerging field of building energy management who are implementing groundbreaking new techniques for energy disclosure, which in turn, is creating skilled, export-proof jobs in cities across the U.S.
The report includes a case study describing how FS Energy developed an innovative building energy rating and disclosure scorecard, called the Building Energy Rating Guide (BERG), to benchmark and track energy usage and costs. After applying this innovative initiative to over 400 FirstService-managed properties in New York City, FS Energy discovered that energy usage and costs were significantly reduced, while client demand for greater energy efficiency increased.
